Astral Audio Extra: Episode 10 (Right click, download,, and experience.)

An odd title for an episode eh? Trust me, I do have a reason for it. I have tried with each audio presentation to bring to you something that engaged me emotionally in some way. Even the themed ones have had something in them that struck a chord. So when I read a blog post regarding a contest that wanted people to write about such experiences, I became excited. The post discussed the wave of celebrities that have been populating Twitter as of late; most not caring to interact with people but to rack up a number of followers. While I could easily slip into a diatribe, I will instead take a different approach and highlight someone on Twitter who has used the given medium for what it is; a method of interaction between interested parties who follow each other. The band Collective Soul has broken the mold and remembers through each reply given or picture posted that it is thanks to their loyal fans that they are popular. So I did as that blog post instructed and followed @collective_soul, sent a direct message, and thus, the seeds for the podcast episode were planted. Read more

Firstly, the Experience Achievement project is postponed until further notice. I will be taking people’s requests to join in via comment or email; however, since no one has decided to do so thus far, it is better to somewhat shelve the idea until we have enough people to make it an engaging experience. Admittedly, I am disappointed at the lack of turn out, but everything happens for a reason. This bump in the road to success is no different and brings me to my next point.
I will be gone for much of the month of May. This executive producer is due for an overall assessment; therefore, I will be required to spend at least a couple weeks at the Addie McBryde center. They will test many skills and suggest equipment I will need to achieve my personal, academic, and career goals. Though I do not discuss my blindness or the challenges I go through, it is a somewhat not-so-well kept secret. After all, you come for the entertainment and the content we produce here; not to here about disability issues. That doesn’t mean I avoid questions tossed my way. I prefer to keep such things separate.
Since May is an important month for us here at Astral Audio Productions, my absence comes at a bad time. Indeed, I honestly thought I would have been asked to do this assessment sooner, but I will take it in stride. I think of this as my own personal wall to climb; a trial by fire so to speak. Last May marked the debut of our official website and the first full cast production episode; this may was to be the month of achievement discussed previously. Still, there is time to make a mark on the memory landscape. It is short notice, but I want to propose the following; hand over hosting duties for a month to other podcasters. This means that whoever flocks to my banner will host special Astral Audio Extra episodes and select music or their own content. Interested parties should email me no later than Saturday April 25.
I do have an episode planned for May 1st as my going away present and hope you all will enjoy it. Until I return, I wish you clear horizons.

Astral Audio Extra: Episode 9 (Right click, download, and experience.)

In this episode, we briefly mention Scott Sigler’s Contagious release, and a promo to buy the book awaits you at the end. Music recap due to be released next sunday or monday. Next Astral Audio Experience episode to follow a week later. And the big news? We play for you, in full, the tribute album to David Lynch entitled, Mashed In Plastic. (Hence why this episode clocks in over an hour.) Read more

In some hours time, the current hq where I work on Astral Audio projects will be disconnected from the world. No phone. No cable. No internet. The move to Mississippi is happening this weekend. We may be without net access for several weeks. In that time, I will finish up the current episode and work on scripts for future plot developments. The original plan was to send out Astral Audio Extra episodes via a timed schedule; however, this won’t be possible. I appreciate the feedback I’ve gotten from listeners and artists who have heard about Astral Audio Productions, and I look forward to more.

Until my next post, go ahead and experience the newest artist to partner with Astral Audio Productions, Psicodreamics.
