HOLLOW CHOICES by Robert Jackson Bennett & David Liss

The story of the devil offering a life of luxury is far from new. The potential benefactor is a guy who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn’t commit the crime but his friends didn’t help him out; instead, they each made a deal with the devil. He wound up in prison while nothing bad has happened to them since.

The choices a person makes shape who he or she is, the present, and the future. This story tried to convey that message. In the end, it felt holow. Not poorly told but not a collection of events that sticks in the mind afterwards.
